Our first choice for a zoo is the legendary Hungerford Hill. This winery is a landmark in the Hunter Valley region with its unique barrel shaped tasting room and cellar.

They have a variety of flavors available, from the classic tasting for $10 per person to what they call EPIC for $60 per person. The EPIC tasting includes 5 premium wines with several dishes from the legendary MUSE restaurant next door. What a winner.

Established in 2008 by owners Bill and Vicki Within, Leogate Estate is both a wine lover’s paradise for dog owners and a five star winery in Pokolbin, Hunter Valley.

You may recognize some of the Leogate wines from Qantas Business & First Class if you’ve been lucky enough to fly in such luxury. But if you haven’t had the wine from 38,000 meters yet, you can grab a few bottles from the star-studded wine line in its luxury room.

In the house you will find two border collies, two boxers and a black kelpie named Sunny. There’s also a fresh water pump to keep your dogs out of the water, and they have tennis balls and other dog toys to keep your pet entertained while the adults grab some red and white.

Inspired by the great traditions of European winemaking, Iron Gate Estate is a small winery in Pokolbin that produces unique artisanal wines.

With stunning cellar doors that look like something out of the Spanish countryside, this winery is definitely one of the most photographed in the Hunter Valley.
