Living in Southern California, we have access to some great dog friendly places. We can enjoy adventure travel with our dogs and go on long weekend trips. One of our favorite cities is Santa Barbara, CA. Santa Barbara offers many fun activities and places that are dog-friendly.
On average, our trip from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara, CA takes about two hours depending on traffic. It’s a fun drive and a great weekend getaway. In this post, I’ll share 13 of the best dog-friendly activities we did on our trip to Santa Barbara, whether for a day trip or a weekend stay.
The Best Dog Friendly Attractions In Cornwall
Whenever visiting Santa Barbara, California, my first stop is Chase Palm Park (along Cabrillo Boulevard). It is a large park and a great place to walk after a drive. Of course, the view of the beach and the abundance of palm trees make our trip enjoyable and create the perfect setting for our beautiful day in Santa Barbara.
Surprisingly, Chase Palm Park is conveniently located across from Cabrillo Ball Park and Chromatic Gate, allowing us to see all three attractions in one visit.
We were told that Cabrilo Ballpark is one of the most beautiful ballparks in the world. Palm trees and beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean add to the landscape of Cabrilo Ball Park.
Attracting softball players, ⅓-mile hikers, and exercise enthusiasts (there are 13 outdoor exercise stations), the park serves many purposes.

Cabrillo Ballpark has free street parking. We usually stop here before going 1/3 mile or before going to Chase Palm Park. Just a reminder to dog parents to always be responsible. Please bring a poop bag and pick up after your dog.
