Today is not like most days. Mom carries many bags. He took a camera and bought a pair of shoes. Guys, you shake my money, that means I’m leaving too!

We walked out the door. I jumped in the car and told me I was a good girl. I love cars because they are magical. My mother and I went in, sat for a while, and then a surprise awaited us. Sometimes it is one of my favorite places, and sometimes it is completely new.

We go and go and go. It’s like years and years. We made a few stops so I could go to the bathroom. This is very unusual. where are we going?

I stuck my head out the window. God, it’s so cold outside! And no one smells the same. This is a new place! There is no road, the roads are narrow. Oh… now I know! We’re going to the mountains!

We got out of the car in a beautiful cabin. Lots of new scents. I was shocked! After my mother got ready for a while, my mother put me in the car and we went to a place called Ugly Dog in the Cash Office. I wonder if only dirty dogs come in, because then I won’t let them in. I am very good. Moore said “dirty dog” is a statement and all dogs can eat outside in the yard with their owners. So I used to go out with my mom when she had dinner and drinks. After that we went back to the cabin. I need to get some sleep before I go on my next trip!

We had breakfast and then went to the car. It is very interesting! Driving is my favorite activity and we continue to do it. I stuck my head out the window. We are outside and there are beautiful Christmas lights everywhere. I heard your mother say it’s Highland Main Street.

We parked and started walking. We went to the shops and all the people in the shop greeted me and ate me. Mom said if I’m fine, we’ll go to therapy, so I’m sure it’s fine.

Dogs come in and out of the Main Street store. We walked in and this was the store for me! Toys and treats are everywhere! These are the feet of the mountains. My mom went to the grocery store and filled a bag of natural medicine for me when I met my new poodle friend at the store. He also bought a new sea toy. After leaving we returned to the car and I enjoyed the treat…but not for long!

We got in the cars and within minutes we were at the Highland Dog Park! There are many dogs that I can take with. I ride with my Australian Shepherd and we run and run around the dog park. Mom brought out the sea toys she bought me, Highland Mountain Paws, and Lucy the Australian Shepherd, and I started my favorite game, tug of war.

Finally, I was very tired. I just went there to the dog park. I’m ready to sleep. So my mom and I got up and went back to our pet-loving tent. He put me in his box so I could take a break from worrying and told me that he and his friends were going shopping and had a nice dinner at Wolfgang’s Highland.

Mom is driving and tells her friend she’s glad they’re vacationing in dog-friendly North Carolina. And I’m definitely happy too! We drove a bit and ended up in Paintertown Valley. This scared me a little because I had heard that panthers are big, mean cats. But Mom says there are no panthers, so I guess we can try.

I love being outside, in the mountains. The fresh mountain air is very pleasant. There are many new and fragrant things in the forest that I do not know, but I still want to recognize them. We reached our destination and I couldn’t believe it. It is water, but there is a lot of it, and it is very fast and high. And there is a lake where my game ends! Mom said we have reached Nani Brill Falls. I was swimming in the water, and he told me that I was good at swimming. In the end we had to leave the mountains, but we continued walking through the forest for a while. I am happy to be with my mother. We carried him back to the car and I laid him down on a towel to dry off.

Mom said there is one stop before we go home. We went out to the parking lot and entered the building. Wow! There are pictures of dogs all over the walls. A nice lady came out from behind the desk and gave me some medicine. Well, I like it here. Everyone wanted to eat me and asked my mother what kind of dog I was. He proudly told them that I was a leper. I was sitting on an easy chair while he was talking to them. She thanked them for being pet-friendly and asked them to book another pet-friendly cabin with them next spring.
