Dog Friendly Vacations San Diego

Dog Friendly Vacations San Diego

Dog Friendly Vacations San Diego – We love traveling with our dogs! We were surprised how many places allowed us to take not one, but two 70lb Golden Retrievers. Here are some of our favorite places to stay with pups, as well as some great resources for finding pet-friendly rentals/hotels.

Our dogs LOOOOOVE going to San Diego, CA! It’s an easy 6 hour drive from Phoenix (and they love highways).

Where to stay: During our last visit to the beach, we found the best resort using vacation rentals by owner. Not only is this pet friendly and convenient for your dog, but it’s also affordable and conveniently located in North Pacific Beach! We plan to stay here every time we are in San Diego with the dogs. Tourmaline Beach (walking distance from this rental) is dog friendly some mornings and evenings – so great!

What to do: Taking your dogs to the beach is a must! There are only a few places where dogs are allowed on the beach: Dog Beach at Ocean Beach, Fiesta Island Dog Run, and our favorite is Del Mar Dog Beach.

Where to eat: Hennessy’s Tavern in San Diego allows dogs on their patio. Enjoying a pint, feeling the ocean breeze and having the dogs at my feet was so much fun. The Fig Tree Cafe is great for breakfast and pets too!

Brad and I grew up in Sedona, so it’s a very special town to us. Phoenix is a 2 hour drive from our home and is a dog friendly city.

Where to stay: We love El Portal! They welcome dogs of all breeds and go above and beyond to make sure your dogs are well taken care of. They had some treats for the dogs when we walked into our room. Each room is unique and beautiful and comfortable. We went for our 1st year and stayed in Juniper’s room – we had an amazing stay! I recommend The Orchards Inn, they offer pet friendly rooms. Amazing views from every room!

Things to do: There are many great hiking trails to take your dogs, we did this every day we were there. Bring your camera!

Places to Eat: If you are staying in El Portal, the village of Tlaquepaque is right next door and has many dining options. We couldn’t find any dogs so we ordered a tour from Oak Creek Brewery and ate in our cozy room by the fireplace – it was amazing! Another great restaurant we’ve come to know and love is Taos Cantina – they have a dog friendly patio.

Since Phoenix is home to some of the most amazing hotels, spas, and pools in the country, we “think” a lot – especially in the summer when they offer amazing prices to citizens. Many people have welcomed our dogs! Here are some of our favorites:

Dog Friendly Vacations San Diego

Sheraton Wild Horse Pass: This hotel is a 45-minute drive from our house and off the Wild Horse Trail – so it feels like we’re vacationing in another city. They welcome dogs of all sizes and there are large rooms on the floor to make it easy for your dog to walk around. They have a beautiful hotel! We also liked the personal touches like the dog bed and food/water bowls in our room.

A Pet Friendly Coronado Hotel

Hyatt Regency Scottsdale: I am an Arizona native and this is my favorite hotel in the valley. They recently announced their “4Paws” Pet Friendly program – we can’t wait to book another stay and try it out πŸ™‚

In our opinion, Colorado is the most dog-friendly state in the United States. There are many activities you can do with your dog, and almost every city welcomes them with open arms. I’m sure we’ll add a few more places to this list, but here are our favorite dog-friendly cities in Colorado.

I think the best word to describe Telluride is: magic. This small town in the mountains is one of our favorite places in the world, staying here will make you feel like you are in Switzerland. During the summer months, the city has many beautiful walking trails. There are several “Puppy Parking” locations around town where you can park your dog safely while walking to shops and restaurants. The “Galloping Goose” parking system welcomes dogs. Our dog’s favorite is the gondola that runs between Telluride and Mountain Village. As you can see in the picture below, Roxy really enjoyed the gondola ride!

Where to Stay: The city of Telluride offers lodging options ranging from hotels. We stayed at the Camel Garden during our visit. You can’t beat the location – it’s right next to the gondola and walking distance to everything. The rooms are large, the beds are very comfortable and the pet rates are very reasonable. For more options, the City of Telluride website has a pet friendly page that is a great resource.

San Diego’s Best Dog Friendly Places, Restaurants, & Shops

Vail Valley is another great place to plan a Colorado vacation any time of the year. This place can be a little pricey – but you get what you pay for because it’s so beautiful.

Where to Stay: Westin Riverfront at Beaver CreekΒ One of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. This property is beautiful, located on the river with mountain views. There was a path along the river that was perfect for walking and Roxy went swimming in the river. Lots of rooms with very high ceilings and a kitchen with everything you need – microwave, ceramic hob, mini fridge, plates, cutlery – you name it! The hotel is especially good for allowing dogs (especially furry ones like us). But, – our pups were greeted with love from the staff and the Westin’s “heavenly” dog beds when we entered our room. One suggestion: Ask for a floor plan so it’s easy to take your dog outside to do business. As you can see, Roxy & Quincey love every second at the Westin Beaver Creek. Damn dogs!

Ouray is a small town nestled among the highest peaks of the Rockies. That is why it is called “Switzerland of America”. He shares a rich history of his famous gold business. While we didn’t have much time to explore there, we found that you can take your dogs to Billy Goat Gruff’s outdoor beer garden. After a long run, this was just what the doctor ordered. Good fast food, a variety of craft beers and beautiful scenery.

The AAA Petbook is amazing. Just search for the city and all the options that are suitable for living will be displayed. We’re so proud of her πŸ™‚With one of the top ten beaches, miles of sandy beaches, and the most dog-friendly city (besides Carmel, CA), San Diego is a must-see when traveling. to the West Coast. . With fun activities for all ages and travel styles, here are my top things to do when visiting this dog paradise.

SanDiego has 70 miles of coastline and has beautiful beaches and some of the best dog friendly hotels I’ve ever visited. Coronado Beach, Ocean Beach, Del Mar Dog Beach and Fiesta Island offer clean havens for people and dogs to enjoy the sun, scenery and salty ocean air. Be sure to add one of these to your must-visit list!

Located across the bay from the city of San Diego, Coronado regularly visits Dr. (This might help you decide on your beach trip above.) With gentle, wide surf, sparkling beaches, a beautiful main street, and great hotels, including the famous Hotel del Coronado, this island is perfect. paradise for every type of traveler.
