Seeing a familiar face when you’re not around can help dogs get used to not having you around. Write a list detailing your pet’s feeding schedule, any medical restrictions, and your veterinarian’s phone number in case of emergency.

Update your dog’s tags and microchip. If you live in an apartment or house where there is no fence, there is an unfortunate risk of letting your pet run, especially if your dog is used to only listening to your commands. It’s important to make sure your puppy’s ID tag is attached to its collar and its microchip is updated so the good people know where your fur baby belongs if they find it.
“Puppy-proof” house. Just as you make sure your home is safe for a teething puppy, you should do the same for any dog that is left alone for long periods of time or gets stressed when you leave. Chewing is a result of separation anxiety. Therefore, it is important to get rid of dangerous items for your puppy to avoid health risks and to protect your belongings from damage.
