We’ve teamed up with the National Trust on the Dogs Welcome project, an initiative which aims to improve access for our four-legged friends to the wonderful places the Trust cares for. From the introduction of more dog-friendly runs, dog bins, wash bays and water stations. The National Trust takes several precautions to ensure that owners and their dogs feel welcome.

As someone who absolutely loves my two dogs, the outdoors and walks on a beautiful National Trust property, I’m delighted to help unveil the Dogs Welcome project.

All National Trust sites have been rated for their dog friendliness and awarded a Special Pawprint Rating. This is stated in the National Trust Members’ Handbook and on the Trust website. 3 paw prints (best), 2 paw prints (good), and 1 paw print (standard) help visitors plan great adventures with their canine companions.

Three prints show the best places to visit for a day with your dog. You will be able to take your dog to most places, including indoors, for a cup of tea and a treat. There will be clearly demarcated dog areas and dog-friendly experiences.
