South Sister (Central Oregon) – Plan a long weekend to reach the non-technical 10,358 feet. Camp the night before at base camp by Lake Diablo and wake up early for the 12-mile round-trip hike. Admire the view of Cross Oregon’s largest glacier and two other sisters: Middle and North Sisters, Mount Bachelor, Broken Top, Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens and Mount Adams.
Wilson River Trail (Tillamook Forest) – This 26.6 mile trail has many great hiking opportunities, all full of beauty. Try the 11.2-mile point-to-point along the Lester Creek section starting at the Kings Mountain trailhead. With 2,486 feet of elevation gain, the hike is quite difficult as it winds through a forest full of Oregon natives like Douglas firs.
