After all, vacations are more fun when you take your best friend. But finding a dog-friendly hotel in New England takes a lot of research. What is the hotel’s dog policy? Any extra charge? Are there any weight and gender restrictions? You may worry that you will have to sacrifice your comfort to travel with your dog. Is this the only option to “get it out” in miserable road hotels and campsites? Or is there a place that not only allows dogs, but caters to both dogs and their owners?

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, Basin Harbor believes no family vacation is complete without four-legged family members. Their pet policy allows well-behaved dogs of all sizes in the cabins for a fee of $20 per day. To book online, you can select one of the cottages and add a pet fee at checkout.

This resort has everything you need for the perfect vacation without leaving 700 acres. From land to water, choose from a variety of fun activities for the whole family. The pool and guest beach are closed to pets, but there is a dog-friendly swimming area called Fanny’s Beach. We were able to rent a sailboat to go out on the water with Roscoe! Additionally, you can dine at one of the resort’s five restaurants. Although dogs are not allowed in the dining rooms, they are welcome to dine with you in the relaxed seating area outside the Red Mill. Dog walking and dog sitting are also available if you want to have some fun without Fido.

Field Guide Lodge in Stowe is a stylish boutique hotel managed by Lark Hotels. Like many of their properties, their pet policy is an additional $50 per dog per day for dogs under 70 pounds. We stayed in one of their 3 dog friendly cottage suites, which were very spacious and had a private outside entrance. You can order these suites online, just add a note with your dog’s name, size and quantity at checkout. Do not leave the dog alone in the living room. Out of respect for other guests, leashed dogs are only allowed in the lobby and outside public areas of the hotel.

This hotel stands out for its elegant and luxurious decorations. The lobby lounge, comfortably furnished with a retro wood stove and cozy furs, invites you to relax with a book or board games. You can enjoy breakfast at the lobby coffee bar or have drinks and snacks at the brand new ski themed ski bar. The outdoor baths have to be reserved in advance, which is a bit inconvenient. But the good thing is that you are sure to get it. And the location can’t be beat. We could walk to the center and the mountain bus stopped right in front of the hotel. It’s the perfect starting point for you and your pup’s Vermont adventure.

Mountain View Farm Inn is a very special place in the heart of Northeastern Vermont. According to their pet policy, dogs are allowed in select rooms in Peacham, Danville, N. Danville, Maidstone and Lost Nation for an additional fee of $50. You can select the “pets allowed” option and book your room online. The hostel is very pet-friendly, with a friendly golden retriever at reception and even an on-site animal sanctuary. Know that your dog is reactive to other animals!

We stayed in the Deluxe Peacham room which was warm but comfortable. Roscoe especially loved sleeping in front of the crackling stove. In the morning we were welcomed into the main building with hot pastries and coffee, and because we didn’t want to eat another bite, the innkeeper brought out a stack of his famous farm fresh blueberry pancakes. we could not resist.

With 400 acres of land, this historic town is nestled high in the mountains of the Northeast and is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever lived. It’s worth getting up at dawn to admire the pink and purple sunrise. Fog forms on the mountains and in the valleys in the early morning.

The Kimpton Taconic in Manchester has the most liberal pet policy I’ve ever come across. Everything from fur to feathers is welcome as long as it fits in the lift! There are no restrictions on the size, weight, breed or number of pets, and there are no deposits or additional fees. Filter by pets when ordering online and fill out the pet form at check-in.

Pennsylvania Dog Friendly Travel Guide

Kimpton Taconic is the perfect place to pamper your cat. The rooms are equipped with food bowls, toys, treats and soft Orvis dog beds. (Be sure to visit the Orvis store down the street with your dog). Dogs are allowed in the lobby and patio dining area of the hotel’s Copper Grouse restaurant. In the cooler seasons, they have outdoor heaters to keep you and your pup warm. In addition, you can request pet services including, but not limited to, pet sitting, dog walking and pet spa services at the front desk.

Located in downtown Burlington, Made Inn Vermont is a home away from home for you and your pets. The pet policy of this luxury-trendy city B&B pays $25 per pet per day for its well-behaved four-legged friends. You can book directly online, add your dog to the number of guests and write the information in the notes.

We stayed in room 904, one of the larger rooms offered for large dogs. Although it was very convenient with Roscoe, and the bathrooms are down the hall (even though they are private). The quirky look of the hotel may not suit everyone, but it is conveniently located a short walk from the city centre. The owner is very friendly and will recommend pet friendly restaurants and activities in Burlington.

Located between Killington and Rutland in central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort is not only dog-friendly, it puts dogs first. Their pet policy states that canine companions are welcome in the resort’s four luxury cabins and guest house, complete with Vermont-sourced biscuits, dog beds and meals. You may have to pay an additional fee of $50 per dog. maximum two dogs per unit. Dogs must be registered when booking.

Dine with your dog on the terrace with stunning views of the meadows, lake and mountains during the day and cozy up by the campfire at night.

The Stowehof is my dog-friendly hotel in Stowe. You can call to reserve dog-friendly rooms on the first floor, pay an extra $25 per night for dogs of any size, and enjoy direct access to the hotel’s expansive lawn.

Built with exposed beams, this warm and welcoming cabin offers stunning mountain views. It seems eternal and comforting, like real salvation in the mountains. The world around us may seem to be changing, but Stowehof will remain a familiar place where we can feel at home, away from home.

With simple but clean rooms, this is one of Stowe’s most affordable hotel options. Breakfast leaves something to be desired, so go elsewhere for breakfast. But grab a drink at the Fritz Bar and relax with your pup in a cozy spot. Choose between playing board games on the large living room sofa, reading a good book in front of the large built-in fireplace or watching the stars around the outdoor fireplace.
