Best Dog Friendly Bars Near Me – Alice and I have been living in the West since 2012! We’ve found thousands of friendly patios, spots, and bars in our neighborhood and across Manhattan. Before we share a specific location
, has some general information that will be useful for anyone traveling to The Big Apple with their furry friends!
Best Dog Friendly Bars Near Me
Official policy in the city is that dogs are not allowed in food service. I have found some indoor places that repeat (or ignore) this rule, but they are few and far between. If you are part of a dog-friendly hotel, you can find restaurants that allow dogs indoors. So I am
Dog Friendly Beaches In France
We recommend taking your child to NYC during the hottest months – around April through October. There is a hall and plenty of sidewalk seating for fun when the weather is nice. It’s better to go to the park in the sun than in the bitter cold!
Almost all restaurants allow dogs on their outdoor tables. If you walk through the Upper West Side (mainly Amsterdam or Columbus), Chelsea (mainly 8th and 9 Avenues), East Village, or West Village, you will find plenty of sidewalk seating to enjoy with your dog!
Traveling with a small dog in the city is convenient! The tunnel allows dogs if they are in a carrier – and the word “carrier” has been interpreted very well. I carry Alice in a small, flexible bag that I can fold up and fit in my Purse. He sat on my lap and watched until other passengers laughed at him or pet him 🙂 I have seen many big dogs in unique situations, like bags in the subway, and I have seen many dogs walking. On the train without a bag. Even if the dog is well behaved, most drivers don’t care as long as you don’t travel during rush hour! As far as I can tell, if your dog is not in the carrier, the worst that can happen is to be asked to leave the tunnel or pay a fine of $ 25. This only happens if you see an NYPD officer during your trip, who should take the time to issue a fine.
NYC taxis require all drivers to have pets – but sometimes they refuse. If this happens, wait for the next cart you see and they will accept your dog without a problem. Alice and I use the elevator. After requesting a ride, I texted the driver and asked what was on my lap – and they said it was fine.
Dog Friendly Manhattan — Adventures Of Alice Bug
Most stores allow dogs, as long as they don’t feed them. Alice always shops with me – especially Zara, Old Navy and homewares. She has good taste 🙂 So if you want to shop in SoHo or 5th Ave, you will find many stores that welcome your dog too. Pubs are also dog friendly (I’ve never found a pub in town that doesn’t let Alice in) and they usually have dog parties!
Many pubs and liquor stores have tastings, which can be a great activity for dogs. I recommend Roma Liquor at Amsterdam & W 95th St or Columbus Avenue Wine & Spirits. They always have a friendly staff member Alice (she pulls me to the door every time we go), and they often do wine tastings!
The location of Starbucks and other coffee shops around the city is so cool that dogs come with humans to order. I usually order through the app and pop into Alice to take my drink to Central Park. If you are on the Upper West Side, I hope you will visit the Starbucks at 86th & Columbus and meet the amazing barista who paints pictures of dogs on puppies!
Some Duane Reade and CVS locations don’t care if you bring a dog, while others don’t allow dogs or will let you bring your dog – it’s up to the manager.
Dog Friendly Places In Savannah
A lot of these places are on the Upper West Side because we spend a lot of time in the hood. But we also broke out to other parts of the city!
One of the most amazing places to leave a dog! This bar/hotel is awesome, and their cocktails and cheese plates are really nice.
Our favorite wine bar! Win Sur Wing has several locations in Manhattan, but the Upper West Side location is spectacular. Sidewalk seating and French wine will take you to Paris!
Grand Banks is a bar and restaurant on a boat that floats along the docks on the Hudson. You get a great view of the World Trade Center and lower Manhattan, and it’s a great place to watch the sunset over the river. Book in advance!

Love this dive bar that is dog friendly inside and has a small backyard. There will always be another dog!
This is one of my favorite sunset spots in the summer! W. I recommend entering Riverside Park at 98th & Riverside and walking north on the boardwalk until you run into an outdoor bar with picnic tables. The menu is quite simple, but delicious, and refreshing drinks! Very popular with dogs and their humans, so on weekends you may have to wait a little for a table.
I love going to this cute cafe on weekends. It can get very crowded, but dogs are allowed.
Soho Grand has a dog-friendly restaurant on level 2. It also has an outdoor bar that allows dogs in the warmer months.
How Pet Friendly Is St. Augustine?
Amazing sunsets with the Hudson! Enter the park at Riverside & W 72nd and head west, through the tunnel, down the stairs, and turn left (south) when you get to the water. Just past the small baseball field you will find Bear Eye Cafe. The harbor across from the café hosts exciting events throughout the summer!
Amazing views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge and Williamsburg Bridge. There is a booth where you can buy overpriced beer … or bring your own snacks and drinks (no alcohol …) and sunbathe with your dog and some friends. Pier 17 also has two restaurants, but I don’t know if they allow dogs in their beautiful courtyard. South Street Seaport also has several restaurants with outside (limited) seating.
Lots of outdoor seating with views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty! Beer, snacks, cocktails and a perfect sunset spot. Make sure you walk around Battery Park too!
Pedestrian street in the financial district with lots of communal tables to restaurants/food stalls across the street.

Very dog friendly place with outdoor seating and views of the Hudson and the World Trade Center! Get there first to beat the crowd.
This bar offers happy hour deals and a large whiskey selection. They have some tables outside, but allow dogs in the bar area inside!! Alice likes to come here during happy times.
