Halibut Point State Park is a coastal park with a granite quarry, nearly three miles of trails and great views. There is also a visitor center and a lighthouse-like tower on site.
Halibut Point is one of our favorite destinations in Massachusetts. The path starts in the forest before reaching the tower and going to the quarry. We never miss an opportunity to take a photo in the tower before appreciating the unusual geological features of the quarry.
The trail goes around the quarry offering many opportunities to sit on the rock ledges and admire the panoramic views.

Cape Cod is a peninsula in the Atlantic Ocean in the southeastern corner of Massachusetts. It is a popular summer destination known for its relaxed lifestyle, and tourists come for the beaches, lighthouses, lakes, villages, seafood shacks and restaurants. of the port.

Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park contains approximately 250 acres on a peninsula between Casco Bay and the Harraseeket River. It contains a variety of ecosystems and is known for the native birds that nest on Googins Island. Open year-round, the park is popular for bird watching, hiking, educational programs and picnics.

Some trails offer access to the water, either via a sandy beach, steps or steep, steep cliffs. But my favorite thing about Wolfe’s Neck Woods are the views of Casco Bay from the waterfront.
The dramatic colors of the water, in almost tropical areas, contrast with the texture of the stones and create a wonderful scene.

Dog Mountain is a 150-acre dog-friendly mountain retreat in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. The property was owned by the talented artist, furniture maker, sculptor and author, Stephen Huneck.

Unfortunately, Huneck died only 61 years old. However, his vision lives on with the Dog Mountain Dog Chapel, an art gallery and many pet-friendly trails, ponds. They even host dog-friendly events, including parties and concerts.
The Dog Chapel, dedicated to our furry friends, is a place of healing for all those who have lost a furry friend. Photos and notes about departed pets cover the walls several layers deep. And every detail of the chapel is exquisite, from the carvings of dogs on the pews, to the stained glass windows, to the statues.
