The trail along the slopes of this famous rock makes for a beautiful dog walk. Park in one of the many car parks on Beachy Head Road (BN20 7YA), the largest of which is the Beachy Head Pub (5 minutes’ drive from the Lansdowne Hotel). If you are traveling by train, this location is just 3 stops from Western Lawns station (2 minutes walk from the Lansdowne Hotel) at the Beachy Head Centre. From there you can walk across the cliffs to Beachy Head itself – either along the shallows or along the harder and more accessible Peace Path (750m circuit). On a clear day, the panoramic views on this walking route stretch for miles, with particularly spectacular sunsets and sunrises. Bring your binoculars to see how the seagulls are doing and spot the local waterfowl. This trail runs close to the edge of the cliff, so you may want to keep untrained dogs on a leash. Then enjoy a drink at the Beachy Head, another dog friendly pub in Eastbourne, just 1 minute from the station.
