Dog Friendly Holidays Brighton – Brighton and Hove is our home – it’s the last place we rented before we were abandoned as nomadic pets, and it’s a city we visit from time to time as we have to prosecute all our old haunts. Love to review. We have lots of favorite places in Brighton and Hove and love taking our four-legged friends out for a day whenever we’re nearby! We recently took our 10-year-old pointer/spaniel/collie-cross daughter on a day trip to this beautiful, colorful seaside town, one of the most dog-friendly towns in England. Is. Many people stopped to touch Betty’s ear – everyone is very friendly and there are a variety of indoor places to take your dog in case the weather turns during the trip – as it did for us! We took the train from East Worthing to Hove, which is about a 20 minute journey, to take the daughter on holiday in Brighton. All Southern Railway trains allow dogs on board provided they are kept under strict control and remain on the floor. We had planned to get off at Brighton but Betty chose to get off at Hove station for a nice walk into the centre. There are several buses that run in Brighton and Hove, all of which are free. The Brighton & Hove Buses website says it is at the discretion of the driver to allow dogs on board, for example if the bus is overcrowded and it is dangerous for your dog.

If you’re a cyclist and have a basket or bag to fit your dog in, there’s a great network of cycle paths throughout the city. Barrel bikes are available at 82 centers across Brighton and Hove, with pedal or electric options available to hire on 2-30 day passes or pay by the hour. Although all public transport in Brighton and Hove is very dog friendly, we generally prefer to walk as not only is everything in the city within walking distance, but it also gives us and our dog a nice walk. Is! (Although we love an easy bus ride at the end of a long day!)

If you want to visit a particular store in Brighton and Hove, call ahead to make sure they are dog-friendly. Most stores have stickers on the doors to let you know if dogs are allowed, but we thought it best to go into one of ours and check with the staff before taking Betty inside.
If you’re looking for quirky independent shops full of treasures, be sure to check out Brighton’s famous Lanes. Lucy & Yak sells all kinds of clothing, including their trademark rompers and overalls, “Dogs are not only welcome in our stores, but encouraged!”. So, if you visit this place with your dog, you can expect a lot of hustle and bustle. Burt’s Home Store has several locations in Brighton and Hove, all of which are dog-friendly, so we have everything from kitchenware, candles and decor to toys, books and games in our colorful northern lanes. Like we like to stop by the mine. For a real taste of vintage shopping in Brighton, take your pig to Snooper’s Paradise – as the name suggests, this sprawling space filled with retro goods is a veritable Aladdin’s cave, and you can take home So are bound to find something. Lens itself is a wonderful place to walk around – the chaos of narrow streets, beautiful street art and colorful shops is a feast for the eyes.
You’d be surprised how many shops around central Brighton are dog friendly (Brighton is great)! Looking for a pair of hiking boots to replace a much-loved pair of Sue’s, we stopped at Mountain Warehouse, Blake’s, Cotswold Outdoors and Mults – all of which welcomed Betty and me into their stores. Welcomed. Many of these stores had dog water bowls and a bowl of dog biscuits, rewarding their owners for following them around the stores throughout the day!
Some everyday chain stores, like heavenly scented cosmetics store Lush, are dog-friendly, and staff are excited to welcome their four-legged friends. The equally fragrant Bird & Blend Tea Shop is also dog-friendly, and you’ll find a new favorite tea blend and your poo can roam the shop with you. We highly recommend visiting this beautiful beach location as it is just a few shops away from Archie’s Emporium! This small but well-stocked store is filled with everything you can think of for your dog, from food and treats to accessories and even dog ice cream! The owner has a reputation for being very welcoming and kind to all dogs – well worth it to pick up a little something for your pooch after enjoying some retail therapy for yourself!

As with shops in Brighton, you’ll be spoiled for choice with how many eateries and cafes in Brighton and Hove welcome dog owners. For the pet you know, Cafe Nero has dog-friendly, comfortable chairs and a layout where you can change yourself so your dog won’t be disturbed. For a more hipster vibe, coffee specialists Wolføx allow dogs in each of their locations, and you’ll experience a more indie, Brighton feel, as well as well-crafted coffee. If you’re looking for the best breakfast in Hove, look no further than Backed. Their fluffy crepes with maple syrup are worth the wait at busy times – order in advance and let them know you’re bringing a dog, as only their first floor and outside are dog-friendly.
Vegetarian and vegan restaurant Wai Keka Mo Kau offers a break from the bustling crowds in Kauai Lions, with a bright and cozy interior where you can enjoy vegetarian cakes while your dog snoozes with you. does. Down south in Kemptown we regularly visit the redroaster, we come to Brighton when we fancy a cuppa in a lovely setting. Soft marble surfaces and a botanical backdrop, combined with a varied all-day breakfast menu, make it a delightful and Instagrammable place to stop by with your dog.
On our day with Betty, we tried a new lunch spot that became a new favorite! Shelter Hall is an indoor food market on the seafront, offering a variety of food from 7 different independent stalls. We were greeted at the door and shown to our seats downstairs – the upper mezzanine is off limits to the dogs, although the space is so big and airy that we think it’s a better place to go downstairs! There is a QR code on the table for you to scan, browse the menus and order, and soon the server brought the food to our table. It’s a very simple system and works great for those of us who have dogs – instead of getting up and looking around the shops, Betty can lay down and sleep in her bed without any interruptions. From custard buns and pizza to cake and gelato, there’s something for everyone! In good weather, the spacious outdoor seating area offers a view of the beach, although the chilly February wind kept us inside for our visit! Top Dog Friendly Stays & Accommodation In South Australia
Definitely a place to visit when in Brighton, but one of our favourites! We chose to get off the train with Betty at Hove rather than Brighton so we could take her to the coast and into the centre. You should keep in mind which parts of the beach allow dogs – from May to September some parts of the beach are closed to four-legged friends. During these months it’s great to stroll along Pebble Beach Promenade, Brighton and beyond. We visited the famous Brighton Pier (unfortunately not dog friendly), the i360 Observation Tower, the ruins of West Pier, as well as the many cafes, shops and art installations that line the seafront, we walked for miles in both directions. Likes to walk. be explored. For a dog-friendly beach all year round, head to the end of Howe Lagoon to let your dogs run free.
If you can’t trust your dog not to copy someone walking on the beach, luckily there are plenty of green spaces in Brighton and Hove.
