Summer beach days may be over for you, but October is the perfect time for your dog to enjoy the beach. Colder weather is better for dogs, which burn their paws in hot summer sand or dry because there is no shade. Be careful as there are resident monkeys often mixed in with the temple guards and can be very mischievous and steal your belongings if not properly guarded.

Nosy Rahavavy is a southern island whose origins lie in a folk tale where two sisters were separated by pirates and both drowned, creating two islands. These two islands are called Big Sister Island (Pulau Subar Laut) and Little Sister Island (Pulau Subar Darat). As mentioned, it is designated as a marine park managed by the National Parks Board of Singapore where you can learn about native marine life. Little Sister Island is not open to the public. Big Sister Island offers many activities such as snorkeling and diving (for humans only, of course), swimming, lunch and cruises between the seas (low tide only).
